Mission
Through our projects, we want to directly address the UN's Global Goals for Sustainable Development, with a particular emphasis on Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. We have identified that a lot of water is being wasted due to mismanagement; in this context, we're interested in catalysing rainwater's potential to meet water demand using percolation wells, globally recognised as one of the most effective methods of harvesting rainwater. Unlike bore wells, which exploit groundwater stores, percolation wells recharge the water table by allowing rainwater to recharge the shallow aquifer.
Vision
We want to work with local people to build percolation wells for a site where the level of the water table has decreased due to over-extraction of water, with the aim of helping to reduce water stress and build climate resilience. Additionally, we hope to use the Global Social Leaders programme (GSL) as an opportunity create a sustainable model for the implementation of rainwater harvesting structures (specifically percolation wells) across Delhi, which we will continue to support beyond the timeline of our GSL project.
